Starbucks

The underworld must have frozen over, since I'm leaving a review for Starbucks of all places. We landed up here after a passport renewal appointment. It is a few steps away, and a welcome break after, you know, dealing with bureaucracy at its finest. Anyway. The coffee + food over here needs no review; it is the same everywhere. HOWEVER. The service? Par excellence. It started with the lady at the cash counter. She took her time with each customer, suggesting food and drinks, wihtout being pushy or salesy. I appreciate that it takes effort to learn the tastes of individuals, and trying to find the best match for them. When I rocked up to the counter, I asked for unsweetened drinks, because in my experience, Starbucks is less coffee with syrup and more syrup with a hint of coffee. The lady (whose name escapes me; age!) suggested a cold coffee with new flavours, and told her barista colleague to make it as unsweetened as possible. It was SO GOOD, I ordered the same drink again in a larger size literally 15 minutes later. They both did a fabulous job of listening to what I wanted and getting me a perfect match. Cannot overstate how rare that it. (Actually, in all my reviews, this is a recurring theme, because that's what gets me to leave a review.) Anyhoo. Loved this joint. Will definitely come back when in the vicinity.

Had a great time at Starbucks Marathon Futurex with my kids. The staff were warm, genuine, and showed amazing hospitality. The vibe was perfect for a relaxed family outing. We’ll definitely back !!!!
