“Hi, this is Akshara, and I am a proud Starbucks partner. Where I come from, coffee is an essential part of our livelihood, and it’s no surprise, that this special connection led me to a path where I get to learn about coffee, everyday! I realised there was so much more to the brewing techniques that I pushed myself to participate in the National Barista Championship, and I’m glad I did—it was an enriching experience.
Anytime someone asks me about my passion for coffee, you will see me beaming with a smile and showing off my tattoo! The tattoo is inspired by my love for Filter coffee and is a subtle reminder of the first cup my mother had brewed for me — and it’s by far still my favourite.
My other go-to beverages? It would definitely be the Iced Signature Chocolate and the Cold Brew.
Apart from enjoying the profession I pursue; I am also a dance fitness instructor. I make it a point to find the time to pursue dance because it lets my creativity flow in a very unique way.
Being a part of Starbucks has felt like being at the right place, at the right time. With my deep love for coffee, and the freedom to be myself, I am glad I get to call the art of brewing coffee, my job!”
